The incumbent serves the Athletic Department as the Assistant Athletic Director for Business and Finance and will work closely with and report to the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Finance and Strategy, to manage the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Department Business Office. In this role, the employee will directly supervise four full-time staff members and maintain daily oversight of the Athletic Department's financial reporting, budgeting, accounts payable, and procurement functions. This individual will also review/approve select expenditure documents (i.e., Concur expense reports, PantherExpress requisitions, etc.) and maintain/support an environment that emphasizes and prioritizes adherence to a strong internal control framework. Specifically, the Assistant Athletic Director for Business and Finance will work in conjunction with the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Finance and Strategy to ensure that the Athletic Department's financial reporting requirements and name, image, and likeness (NIL) obligations are met. The employee will oversee the completion of mandated and ad hoc financial reports/analyses (i.e., Federal EADA Report and NCAA AUP Report) as well as the timely and accurate issuance of student-athlete name, image, and likeness (NIL) distributions. Since this position is responsible for overseeing the financial reporting process, the incumbent will serve as the primary liaison to the Athletic Department's internal and external auditors on most business-related matters. Additionally, the Assistant Athletic Director for Business and Finance will be charged with the development of the Athletic Department's annual budget, which is in excess of $160 million. In doing so, the employee will work with each sport and support unit to review needs and assess priorities based on available funding. Throughout the year, the incumbent will track the Athletic Department's budgetary performance by regularly monitoring the existing budget dashboard, preparing monthly budget vs. actual status updates, and formulating year-end projections that can be utilized for decision-making and planning purposes.
