Job Description

SUMMARY
An exempt position responsible for leading and directing the organization’s operations. Assist the practice in making prudent economic decisions while maintaining good patient care: planning, organizing and directing all operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct and coordinate activities of medical and administrative staffs and services.
  • Develop policies and procedures for various office activities and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors on ways to improve or enhance business practices.
  • Collaborate with the Board on strategic planning objectives and provides financial direction and execution toward the achievement of the practice’s budget and business goals.
  • Perform all activities as appropriate to support month-end reporting and forecasting 
  • Present clear and reliable data to the Board of Directors.
  • Maintain compliance with governmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Actively participate in the monthly Board meetings by providing status updates and ensuring key initiatives are being managed for timely completion.
  • Perform cash and working capital analyses including bank and credit management.
  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts in an accurate and timely manner while identifying and resolving any discrepancies
  • Participate in and/or lead healthcare contract negotiations including administration of in office infusion medications and services
  • Provide accounting oversight for internal and outsourced accounting operations
  • Provide oversight of income distribution for physicians’ compensation packages
  • Prepare partner buy-ins and oversight of related practice valuations
  • Act as liaison for 401K and pension plans with investment advisors, attorneys and outside accountants
  • Adapt financial analysis tools to support evolving business needs
  • Manage the recruitment, training, and development of clinical and non-clinical staff, including physicians, nurses, technicians, and administrative personnel
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that encourages team collaboration, continuous professional development, and patient-centered care
  • Implement performance management processes, employee evaluations, and leadership development programs
  • Works collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Oversees all departments

EDUCATION
Master’s degree in business administration, accounting or finance.

EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Five to 10 years of experience in health care management of at least senior-management level with a strong background in financial/accounting management. 
  • Human Resources experience is preferred.
  • Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) and Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certification also preferred.
  • Athena, Encoda, and Maestro Practice Management experience is preferred.
  • Experience with operating infusion center and associated practices preferred. 

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of regulations, policies and procedures that apply to operations, accounting and financial acumen in the healthcare industry and reporting requirements. 
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of health care administration, fiscal management, government regulations and reimbursements. 
  • Knowledge of healthcare contracting and negotiation, claims payment and processing procedures. 
  • Knowledge of value and quality based care concepts.
  • Knowledge of effective business and leadership practices that include strategic and analytical thinking that promote proactive decisions.
  • Knowledge of clinic financial and budgetary practices to develop annual budget, analyze financial data and patterns, and prepare financial statements.

  • Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, problem solving and decision-making to achieve objectives.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  • Skill in identifying and resolving clinic problems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position is in a well-lighted office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Occasional evening and weekend work. 100% in office position between Lowry and Lone Tree locations.

COMPENSATION
In accordance with Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (§ 8-5-101 et seq.), the base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $240,000 , plus a performance-based bonus.
