The HUB is seeking a dynamic and motivated Outside Sales and Community Engagement Specialist to drive sales for group events, offsite catering, parties, happy hours, and school programs. This role focuses on building relationships with local businesses, schools, and community organizations to promote The HUB as the go-to venue for events and catering. The ideal candidate is an outgoing, self-starter with a passion for sales, hospitality, and community engagement, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can deliver measurable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Lead Generation: Actively prospect and secure new clients for group events, offsite catering, parties, happy hours, and school programs through cold calls, networking events, trade shows, and community partnerships.

Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, schools, and community organizations to promote The HUBs offerings, including catering packages, private event spaces, and entertainment options.

School Programs: Collaborate with local schools to develop and execute programs at The HUB, such as field trips, fundraisers, or educational events, ensuring alignment with school needs and The HUBs capabilities.

Event Promotion: Market The HUB as the premier venue for group events (e.g., corporate gatherings, birthday parties, happy hours) by attending community events, hosting tastings, and presenting catering menus to potential clients.

Catering Sales: Drive offsite catering sales by meeting with businesses and organizations, negotiating contracts, and coordinating logistics for delivery and setup, ensuring seamless execution and client satisfaction.

Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, handling inquiries, creating proposals, and ensuring all event details (e.g., menu selection, entertainment, setup) meet client expectations.

Revenue Growth: Develop and execute a sales strategy to meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets for catering and events, collaborating with the marketing team to create promotional campaigns.

Event Coordination Support: Work closely with the events team to ensure smooth execution of booked events, assisting with logistics like BEOs (Banquet Event Orders), staffing, and setup as needed.

Market Research: Stay informed about local market trends, competitors, and community needs to identify new sales opportunities and tailor offerings (e.g., themed happy hours, seasonal catering packages).

Social Media and Marketing Support: Assist in creating content (e.g., event photos, testimonials) for social media to promote The HUBs events and catering services, working with the marketing team.

Qualifications

Experience: 2+ years of experience in outside sales, catering sales, event planning, or community engagement, preferably in the restaurant, hospitality, or entertainment industry.

Skills:

o Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets through proactive outreach.

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with diverse clients.

o Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple events and leads.

o Ability to work independently, manage a flexible schedule, and thrive under pressure.

o Basic knowledge of food and beverage operations, including catering logistics and menu planning.

o Familiarity with social media platforms for promotional purposes.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in hospitality, marketing, or business is a plus.

Requirements:

o Valid drivers license and reliable transportation for offsite meetings and events.

o Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events and community engagements.

o Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs. for event setup or catering deliveries.

Preferred:

o Experience working with schools or educational programs.

o Knowledge of the local community and existing network of business contacts.
