The New Century School is a recognized, independent, private school located in the Fells Point neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland, educating children Pre-K through 8th grade.

Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for an Art Teacher at The New Century School located in Baltimore, MD. The Art Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing art curriculum, teaching art classes, and promoting creativity and self-expression among students. The teacher will differentiate instruction in a mixed-grade class, teaching two cohorts: one class for grades K-4 and another for grades 6-8. Each cohort will be taught twice per week for 50 minutes, with classes scheduled between 12:30 and 3:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an engaging and comprehensive art curriculum for mixed-grade classes.
• Teach art classes to students in grades K-3 and grades 4-8, twice per week for 50 minutes each.
• Work with students to create scenery for two annual productions.
• Organize and execute an end-of-year art show to highlight student work.
• Plan and manage an art fundraiser.
• Rotate and display student artwork throughout the school building regularly.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
• Experience in teaching art to students of various age groups.
• Proficient in various art techniques and mediums.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for art education and inspiring students' creativity.
