Be our next Senior Electrical Engineer Your work environment at EXP In this role, you will be a part of the Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, and Semiconductor Science & Technology Buildings team in the Chicago office. What a day at EXP has in store for you Provide senior level electrical engineering design. Be able to lead, supervise and mentor Designer level staff on all of their responsibilities. Have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts to execute all required aspects of electrical engineering for project delivery. Responsible for meeting firms engineering quality levels for the discipline on assigned projects. Oversees and is integral to the development of design concepts by Designers, and ensure proper application and execution. Verifies designers work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings. Mentors and encourages development of Designer level staff. Responsible for applying firms risk management practices of project engineering. Manages work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours. Perform front-end loading of Electrical systems for projects. Edits and develops basis of design narratives documenting project scope. Apply best practices to set the proper direction of the project in SDs and DDs. Leads and is an integral part of the design team to produce construction documents and specifications that meet the project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget. Is an integral design team member facilitating completion of project construction administration tasks including RFI and submittal review and response. Meets the project objectives while minimizing erroneous efforts. Encourages collaboration to seek the best solutions. Writes studies and reports for Electrical systems on projects. Can operate and/or have an understanding of lighting calculation and electrical power analysis software (i.e. AGI 32, SKM Power Tools and Energy Pro). Executes complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination. Contributes to revisions of company design standards and master specifications related to the Market Sector Expert in specific Electrical requirements for applications within a market sector(s). Evaluates Value Engineering (cost cutting) items with respect to our level of risk. What your experience looks like BS Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree. At least fifteen (15) plus years of related Electrical Engineering experience. Registered Professional Engineer. Experience in designing Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, and Semiconductor Science & Technology Building projects Engineering knowledge and design skills in developing Lighting and Power systems, including an understanding of low voltage/signal systems. Prior experience in preparing proposals and leading a team of designers. Strong communication skills - written and oral; Experience dealing with various clients and fostering a positive relationship with these parties.
