Banking, Lending, & Trust (BL&T) unlocks access to Wells Fargo Bank products and services to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families based on needs related to banking, custom lending, and trust services. These bank specialists leverage resources, valuable research, relationships, custom solutions, and highly tuned strategies to address clients unique needs and aspirations.

Provides support to WIM in providing services to affluent, high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals, families, family offices and charities. BL&T further provides legal guidance on a variety of banking and fiduciary topics including investment management, general trust administration, specialty trusts, custody, tax, specialty assets, regulatory, privacy, ecommerce, deposit relationship and strategy, and business strategies. The section also provides support to the WIM Diverse Segments group, including WIM referral activity.

In this role, you will:

  1. As the Custom Credit Banker, you will be responsible for the origination and execution of the entire custom loan product suite, which may include key focus areas in specialized products and client solutions. Plans strategy and drives execution to deliver high-quality, and most complex, custom credit solutions to existing and new clients across the high net worth and ultra-high net worth segments. Develops presentations for prospective clients and in partnership with the Customer Relationship Group (CRG) negotiates and closes the sale of custom credit products leveraging excellent sales and relationship management skills, credit skills, and strong knowledge of products and solutions. Accountable for asset growth and loan profitability. In conjunction with the Customer Relationship Group and senior members of the Custom Credit team, may develop and implement strategies, including an active outreach to external prospects and centers of influence as well as key non-wealth partners, for new business development. Provides oversight, coaching and education to teams to ensure delivery of banking solutions meet client needs and credit standards. Provides training and guidance to less experienced bankers. Maintains effective risk management through routine education, sound risk and operational decision making, and adherence to policies/procedures.
  2. Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence objectives, plans, specifications, resources, and long-term goals for highly complex business and technical needs across groups and functions
  3. Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas within Wealth Custom Lending functional area
  4. Deliver solutions that are long-term, large-scale, and which require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking, coordination of highly complex activities, and guidance to others
  5. Provide vision, direction, and expertise within Wealth Custom Lending functional area to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions that are large-scale, cross-functional, or companywide strategies
  6. Engage with Wealth Custom Lending functional area professionals and managers across the company and serve as an expert advisor to leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Wealth Custom Lending experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Private Banking, Corporate Banking or Commercial Lending experience
  • A Masters degree or higher
  • Excellent sales and relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of traditional banking products
  • Credit risk experience
  • FINRA registration including Series 7 and 66 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)

Job Expectations:

  • US only: Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. FINRA Series 7 and 66 examinations, or equivalent must be completed within either a 90 or 180-day time period following commencement of employment, depending upon the number of license(s) needed if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. This will be communicated at time of offer acceptance. Registration for FINRA Series 65 or 66 must be completed prior to conducting Investment Advisory business. Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory. In addition to state registration and licensing requirements, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA licensing review process at the time of offer acceptance. For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite is required
  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities and/or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired. Information will be shared about expectations during the recruitment process.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

Salary is just one component of Wells Fargo's total rewards package. Depending on the role, a Wells Fargo's employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
