Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide comprehensive interpreting services within a K-12 educational setting in Texico, NM. This contract position spans the upcoming school year, beginning August 4th, 2025, and concluding June 6th, 2026, offering a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week over five days.

Key Qualifications:

• A minimum 4.0 EIPA score including the written portion and RID certification, or a New Mexico Educator certification specifically for K-12 interpreting.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate clear and accurate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their educators.
• Experience working within educational environments preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality sign language interpretation for students across all grade levels (K-12).
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other school staff to support effective communication and learning.
• Assist in extracurricular and classroom activities as needed to ensure full access for students requiring interpreting services.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all applicable regulations and ethical standards related to student information.
