• Healthcare Setting: Level III/IV NICU\n
• Contract Length: 13 weeks\n
• Start Date: December 8, 2025\n
• End Date: March 9, 2026\n
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour days (07:00 - 19:00), 3 shifts per week\n
• Hours per Week: 36\n
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1840 - $1890\n
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse\n
• Orientation: 36 hours\n
• Weekend Coverage: Required (3 weekends per 6-week schedule)\n
• Holiday Coverage: Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays; Christmas RTO not approved\n

\n\nNICU Registered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Minimum 2 years of full-time Level III NICU experience (Level IV NICU experience highly preferred)\n
• Active Registered Nurse license (VA nursing license accepted as pending, must be in-hand before start)\n
• BLS and NRP certifications required\n
• Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required (can submit with pending, $185 cost)\n
• Epic charting experience preferred\n
• BSN preferred\n
• Professional references required\n
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)\n
• Ability to float to PICU, Pediatrics, Postpartum, and Labor & Delivery units\n

\n\nNICU Nurse Responsibilities\n

\n
• Deliver high-quality, compassionate neonatal care to infants with complex medical needs\n
• Operate advanced NICU equipment: ECMO, Drager ventilators, HFOV/HFJV, bCPAP, Arctic Sun for whole body cooling\n
• Assist with procedures: intubation, lumbar puncture, PICC placement, umbilical line placement, chest tube placement\n
• Provide post-operative care, wound/drain/line care, and ostomy care\n
• Administer and titrate IV fluids and medications, including vasopressors\n
• Interpret ABGs, perform neonatal dosage calculations, and manage ventilator settings (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)\n
• Float to other pediatric units within scope of practice as needed\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and more\n
• Admit and care for infant cardiac patients prior to transfer to PICU\n
• Participate in admissions, IV placements, lab draws (heel and venous), and therapeutic hypothermia\n
