Overview

Yard Drivers operate yard vehicles to move trailers to designated loading/unloading sites as directed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) a plus
• Must be organized and detail oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read chemical labels and follow safe handling procedures for food grade products
• Ability to accurately record data
• Must be able to work weekends, and varying shifts (days, evenings, nights)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• May be required to work in cold, damp environments and be exposed to the outside weather
• Maintain constant mental focus and be constantly aware of surroundings

Responsibilities

• Moves trailer to designated loading docks within the Borden yard facility
• Responsible for keeping daily logs
• Spots and switches trailer as directed
• Stars trailer cooling process before loading and checks trailer temperatures and fuel Levels
• Cleans, washes, and fuels trailers, and inspects for damages
• Services switcher tractor by checking and replenishing liquid levels and draining air tanks
• Performs Driver Vehicle Inspection Report daily for each shift
• Keep Spotter vehicle clean
• Loads/unloads and sorts/stacks pallets
• Assists team in unloading empty cases, racks, and other equipment
• Assists team in keeping loading bay clean
