Job Description

This job is for International J1 Students only. The Retail Team Member provides fast and courteous service to guests interested in purchasing souvenirs. Responsibilities include welcoming and greeting guests, assisting with merchandise questions, maintaining knowledge of products and promotions, increasing revenue through sales techniques, resolving guest concerns, operating POS equipment, stocking and organizing merchandise, maintaining cleanliness and safety of retail locations, assisting with inventory control, processing damaged merchandise, operating mobile retail carts, rotating food and beverage products, using step ladders safely, preventing theft, notifying leadership of supply needs, reporting maintenance or safety concerns, and performing other duties assigned by leadership. No education required; previous retail experience helpful but not required. Must be at least 16 years old to comply with Iowa Child Labor Laws. Must work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must have reliable transportation. Must comply with uniform policies and possess exceptional customer service skills. Ability to engage guests positively, follow directions, multi-task, and work independently or as part of a team is required. Physical requirements include standing and walking for most of the workday, frequent stooping, twisting, kneeling, bending, squatting, reaching above shoulders, safe use of step ladder, and ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or more. Working conditions include exposure to indoor and outdoor environments with variable weather and some exposure to dust and cleaning agents.
