Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 salary + Bonus

Job Summary

· We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee large-scale electrical and specialty construction projects in the Sterling, VA area. This role involves leading project teams, managing all phases of project execution from planning through completion, and ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in electrical systems, construction management, and client collaboration, contributing to projects across commercial, healthcare, biotech, and government sectors.

Key Responsibilities

· Project Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocations, to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of electrical and specialty construction projects.

· Team Leadership: Direct and mentor project teams, including assistant project managers, engineers, and field staff, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve project goals.

· Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project objectives.

· Budget & Cost Control: Oversee financial aspects of projects, including cost estimation, value engineering, and monitoring expenditures to maintain profitability.

· Quality & Safety Assurance: Ensure all work adheres to industry standards, local codes, and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments.

· Pre-Construction Support: Collaborate on design-build and design-assist processes, providing technical input and innovative solutions during the planning phase.

· Problem Resolution: Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues related to scheduling, resources, or technical challenges swiftly and effectively.

· Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports, delivering updates to senior leadership and clients as needed.

Qualifications

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

· Experience: Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in electrical contracting or specialty construction, with at least 3 years in a lead role within Operations.

· Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project), CAD tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with electrical systems, low-voltage installations, or fire safety systems is a plus.

· Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred; OSHA 10, 30, or similar safety certifications are a bonus.

· Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, electrical codes (NEC), and pre-construction services like value engineering or design coordination.

· Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and adapt to dynamic project demands.

· Licensure: Valid driver’s license required; Virginia electrical contractor license or journeyman certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

· Ability to visit project sites regularly, including navigating construction environments and occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs.

· Willingness to travel locally within the Sterling, VA region and occasionally to surrounding areas as project needs dictate.

· Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends based on project deadlines.

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical project management, with a strong background in construction.

- Proven ability to lead project teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective troubleshooting plans.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.

- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.

- PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
