Overview Esri's GIS Content Engineers design, deliver, and maintain high-quality learning resources and experiences that empower users to effectively apply the ArcGIS system, products, and key workflows. Content Engineers' core values reflect collaboration, innovation, education, and optimization of complex workflows within the managed content lifecycle. They collaborate across teams and divisions to strategize, design, and develop foundational problem-based tutorials that support a wide range of users-from students to educators, professionals, and lifelong learners. The team adapts styles and languages to meet the needs of the audience. Our focus is on making it easy for anyone to try something new and interesting while gaining new skills and confidence to do more with Esri technology. Responsibilities Apply ArcGIS tools and products to a wide range of subjects and scenarios: Engage in life-long learning of the ArcGIS platform Become an expert in best practices for the technology Understand audience needs across all experience levels Resource ideation and development: Coordinate with potential authors and stakeholders to define project deliverables Identify scenarios and permissible data to support new tutorials Collaborate with content creators to launch new projects Instructional Design and media creation: Apply established style guidelines to authored materials Ensure consistency in style and best practices for learning Author or co-author new tutorials when necessary Participate in creating videos and other media for learning Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams Coordinate with authors external to the team Ensure Project Managers are kept informed on progress and changes to timelines Collaborate with Quality Assurance team members to maintain resources in a timely manner Documentation & Knowledge Management: Work within a content management system for hosting and updating online resources Coordinate with Project Managers and Operations on project status and task bandwidth Pursue independent knowledge development in ArcGIS products, capabilities, industries, and user communities Requirements 2+ years of experience with the ArcGIS technology Proficiency in writing or storytelling Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Bachelor's in Geography, GIS, Information Systems, or a related field Recommended Qualifications Knowledge of instructional design and content optimization techniques Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional teams
